Hike from Masca village to Masca bay (Tenerife, Canary Islands) is beautiful and adventurous. You will follow the steps of medieval pirates who were using Masca as a chill out and hide out place. Until 1960s there were no proper roads leading to Masca. Today, you can reach it by car, bus, taxi, bicycle. Hike through the beautiful gorge from the village to the bay takes cca. 3 hours of middle paced walk. Be prepared to crossing water streams, climbing through rocks and under them as well. You will see beautiful Canarian vegetation, birds and lizards. Once you reach the bay, you can swim in crystal clear water and if you snorkel, you will see colorful fishes and sea plants. Hike back up takes cca. 3,5 hours and gives you authentic experience as you see the side of the gorge you couldn't enjoy during the descent. Wear hiking shoes and pack plenty of water and something to eat.

There is also very commercial side to Masca experience when the tour operators provide you with a guide and possibility to take water taxi from Masca bay to Los Gigantes, so you don't have to walk back up. It's good for older people and people with bad physical condition.
